Redirect Log Output
As of 6.1.2-Community, Alfresco still uses log4j 1.x library (already end of life). Log4j configuration located inside the war file, so we need to do .war surgery. Open the deployed folder inside Tomcat, look for the file WEB-INF/classes/log4j.properties
Modify the File appender line, change into :
log4j.appender.File.File=${catalina.base}/logs/alfresco.log
The log files will be located under <TOMCAT>/logs. The same way applies to share.war as well.
Alfresco Search Service
Since 1.4.0 requires Java 11. The Solr itself runs fine with Java 8. Use the 1.3.0.1 instead to run on Java 8 (especially if still need Nashorn for Activiti BPM).
Installation and Configuration clearly explained in Alfresco documentation. To make it as Windows Service, use NSSM (Non-Sucking Service Manager). See here for details.
